Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Marin Cashmere different?

Marin Cashmere is a curated edit of timeless, high-quality cashmere chosen for longevity, softness, and understated elegance with a focus on brands known for craftsmanship.

Each piece is thoughtfully sourced, some restored and selected with one philosophy in mind: fewer, better pieces that last for years

Why is the focus on high percent cashmere and select blends?

Most pieces in the collection are 100% cashmere. When I choose blends, they are intentional — typically cashmere blended with silk, wool, or alpaca to enhance drape, structure, or seasonal wearability.

Every piece must meet the same standard: softness, longevity, and timeless design.

What condition can I expect form preloved cashmere?

Most items are in excellent pre-owned condition. If there is visible wear — such as light pilling or a minor flaw — it is clearly noted and photographed.

Cashmere naturally develops light surface pilling with wear. This is normal and easily refreshed. Every piece is gently steamed and prepared before shipping.

Is preloved cashmere sustainable?

Yes. Extending the life of a well-made garment is one of the most sustainable choices you can make.

High-quality cashmere is designed to last for decades. By restoring and re-homing beautiful pieces, Marin Cashmere helps keep exceptional fibers in circulation and reduces unnecessary waste.

Sustainability here is thoughtful, practical, and long-term.

How do I care for cashmere so it lasts?

Wash gently (hand wash or delicate cycle in cold water), lay flat to dry, and store folded with cedar or lavender.

Pilling is normal and can be removed with a cashmere comb or depiller. With intentional care, a well-made cashmere sweater can last for decades.

Where can I shop Marin Cashmere?

Marin Cashmere pieces are available through Etsy and Poshmark, where each item is individually photographed and described in detail.

Because inventory is curated and often one-of-a-kind, once a piece sells, it is not restocked. I recommend following along on Instagram or joining the mailing list for early access to new seasonal edits.
